How Can You Help

Volunteer

We need volunteers in all parts of the UK, but we won’t ask you to hold a garden party or run a marathon. We would, however, very much like to hear from people who have skills in the following areas:

Trusteeship

Our Board of Trustees, the Magnificent Seven, currently numbers (you will not be surprised to hear) 7 people. The Board meets formally 4 times a year during the evening at our office in Chislehurst. There is also a monthly Panel found from some of the Trustees which meets during mutually agreed working hours to review and consider applications for equipment. We are looking to invite onto the Board people who want to help us to take the Charity forward. Preferably, you will have a legal, accounting or business background or a close personal affinity to our aims. If this sounds like you, please visit our contact page and send us an email.

Help desk

You may wish to consider joining us on the email and telephone help desk service. Providing you have a computer with email access and a telephone you can work from home and donate as many hours a week as your personal circumstances allow. We particularly welcome volunteers who have a good working knowledge of various screen reading and magnification software.

Transcription

Are you an accurate typist with a computer and some spare time? Do you have Braille or Moon equipment and expertise? Are you a good at dictation? If so, why not lend a hand with our transcription service? Training is available.
